Duplicates, casing, stray punctuation, Gmail dot/+tag aliases and common domain typos are normalised right in your tab. No upload, no queue.
For each domain we ask a public DNS resolver for its MX records. No MX record means no inbox can exist — those addresses get cut.

Short, practical answers to the things that actually go wrong with a list.
No. Parsing, cleaning and exporting happen in your browser. The only network requests are DNS lookups of domains (not full addresses) to a public resolver, which is how any mail server check works.
No tool can guarantee a mailbox exists without sending mail. MX verification proves the domain can receive email and is the strongest check possible without a verification API — it removes the biggest category of bounce: dead or mistyped domains.
Gmail ignores dots and everything after +, so jane.doe+news@gmail.com and janedoe@gmail.com are the same inbox. Sending to both doubles your cost and your spam complaints.
Checkout sends you straight back here with the limit removed on that browser. Because there is no account, keep the receipt email — it contains the unlock link for other devices.
Yes. Reply to the receipt within 30 days and you get your money back, no questions.
